astronomy

Astronomy

Astronomy is about finding out what's going on beyond Earth. It is one of the oldest sciences because it began when people started writing down what they saw when they looked up into the sky.

aurora borealis

Aurora Borealis

Auroras in the Northern Hemisphere are called aurora borealis, or northern lights; in the Southern Hemisphere they are called aurora australis, or southern lights. Auroras are caused by the interaction of energetic particles (electrons and protons) from outside the atmosphere with atoms of the upper atmosphere.

time travel

Time Travel

Time travel is the concept of travelling forward and backward to different points in time, much as we do through space. In physics, the concept of time travel has been often used to examine the consequences of physical theories such as special relativity, general relativity and quantum mechanics.

  • Antarctic

Antarctica is a continent surrounding the Earth's South Pole. It is the coldest place on earth and is almost entirely covered by ice.
  • Anti Gravity

A hypothetical means of countering or otherwise modifying the effects of gravity, typically in the context of spacecraft propulsion.
  • Bioenergetic Healing: Aura

refers to the energy field emanating from the surface of a person or object. This emanation is visualized as an outline of cascading color and may be held to represent soul vibrations, chakric emergence, or a reflection of surrounding energy fields.
  • Earthquake

An earthquake is a trembling or a shaking movement of the Earth's surface. Earthquakes typically result from the movement of faults, quasi-planar zones of deformation within its uppermost layers. The word earthquake is also widely used to indicate the source region itself...
  • Cloning / Clone

Cloning is the process of creating an identical copy of an original. A clone in the biological sense, therefore, is a single cell (like bacteria, lymphocytes etc.) or multi-cellular organism that is genetically identical to another living organism.
  • Geyser

A geyser is a type of hot spring that erupts periodically, ejecting a column of hot water and steam into the air.
  • Hurricane

Tropical cyclones have very low atmospheric pressures in the calm, clear centre (the eye) of a circular structure of rain, cloud, and very high winds. In the Atlantic and Caribbean they are called hurricanes; in the Pacific they are known as typhoons.
  • Lechuguilla Cave

Lechuguilla Cave is the deepest and the third longest limestone cave in the United States. It is one of more than 80 caves in Carlsbad Caverns National Park. Agave Lechuguilla - which gave the name to the cave - is a member of the Family Agavaceae that grows all around the cave entrance.
  • Mount Everest

Tibetan Chomolungma Nepali Sagarmatha The highest point on Earth, with a summit at 29,035 ft (8,850 m), it lies on the border between Nepal and Tibet (China). Peak on the crest of the Himalayas, southern Asia.
  • Rainforest

Rain forests are home to two-thirds of all the living animal and plant species on the planet. It has been estimated that many hundreds of millions of new species of plants, insects, and microorganisms are still undiscovered and have no names yet...
  • Volcano

A geological landform (usually a mountain) where magma (rock of the Earth's interior made molten or liquid by high temperature along with a reduction in pressure and/or the introduction of water or other volatiles) erupts through the surface of the planet.
