Angkor Wat
Surrounded by a vast moat, the carved gray sandstone temple is approached by means of an extensive causeway bordered on either side by balustrades in the form of giant Nagas (divine serpents). This avenue leads to a magnificent entrance gate. The temple proper is reached through three series of galleries separated by paved courts. Historic Ghost Towns Resources
There are many ghost towns in the American Great Plains, whose rural areas have lost a third of their population since 1920. There are more than 6,000 abandoned sites of settlement in the state of Kansas alone, according to Kansas historian Daniel Fitzgerald. Ghost towns are almost stereotypically common in mining areas: Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, Montana, and California in the western United States and West Virginia in the eastern USA. They can be observed as far south as Louisiana, Georgia and Florida. They are also seen in Northern Ontario, British Columbia and Newfoundland and Labrador (see outport) in Canada, as well as in parts of Australia. Old mining camps that have lost most of their population at some stage of their history, such as Central City, Colorado, Aspen, Colorado, Virginia City, Montana, Tombstone, Arizona, Park City, Utah, or Cripple Creek, Colorado are sometimes included in the category, although they are active towns and cities today. Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt
Kings or Rulers of Egypt were not called Pharaohs by the ancient Egyptians. This word was used by the Greeks and Hebrews, and today is commonly used for the ancient Kings of Egypt. We really do not know how many kings ruled in Egypt, for at times in its ancient past the country was split up, and there were at least several kings at the same time.

Ghost Ship
A ghost ship is an unexplained ghostly ship. They are usually ships that have been lost at sea or have been sunk, but somehow mysteriously reappear. Some ghost ships are merely ships that reappear after their crew mysteriously disappears without any explanation or dies by some sea disease. Among the most famous of these ships is the Flying Dutchman and the Mary Celeste.
Ancient Mysteries: Machu Picchu - Lost City of the Incas
Machu Picchu (literally means "old peak"; sometimes called the "Lost City of the Incas") is a well-preserved pre-Columbian Inca ruin located on a high mountain ridge, at an elevation of about 7,710 feet (2,350 m). It is thought the city was built by the Sapa Inca Pachacuti starting in about 1440 and was inhabited until the Spanish conquest of Peru in 1532. Archeological evidence (together with recent work on early colonial documents) shows that Machu Picchu was not a conventional city, but a country retreat town for Incan nobility (similar to the Roman villas). The site has a large palace and temples to Incan deities around a courtyard, with other buildings for support staff. It is estimated that a maximum of only about 750 people resided in Machu Picchu at any one time, and probably only a small fraction of that number lived in the town during the rainy season and when no noblity were visiting. Noah's Ark
According to Genesis the Ark was built of gopher wood. The meaning of "gopher" is not clear, as this is the only occurrence of the word in the Bible. It has been suggested that it is related to the Hebrew word kopher (pitch), or was at one time kopher but miscopied. If so, it would mean that the Ark was made of wood treated with pitch, of an unspecified type of tree. Tropical cyclones have very low atmospheric pressures in the calm, clear centre (the eye) of a circular structure of rain, cloud, and very high winds. In the Atlantic and Caribbean they are called hurricanes; in the Pacific they are known as typhoons. Because of the Earth's rotation, tropical cyclones rotate clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere and counterclockwise in the Northern. They may be 50-500 mi (80-800 km) in diameter, and sustained winds in excess of 100 mph (160 kph) are common. In the eye, however, the winds drop abruptly to light breezes or even complete calm. The existence of Majestic 12 / MJ-12 has been denied by the United States government, which insists that documents suggesting its existence are hoaxed. Nazca Lines - The Lines were first spotted when commercial airlines began flying across the Peruvian desert in the 1920s. Passengers reported seeing 'primitive landing strips' on the ground below. The Lines were made by removing the iron-oxide coated pebbles which cover the surface of the desert. When the gravel is removed, they contrast with the light color underneath. In this way the lines were drawn as furrows of a lighter color. Off the Pampa, south of the Nazca Lines, archaeologists have now uncovered the lost city of the line-builders, Cahuachi.
